Throw pillows and blankets are a great way to give a slight nod to this season without going overboard. If you’re style is more minimalist then this is your way to go! Swap out your pillows and throws to give the room a whole new cosy vibes.

Nothing says spooky witch vibes more than these orange tapered candles! I’ve seen them styled on fireplace mantels paired with stunning black holders and other trinkets. I’m loving this vibe and it’s something I’ll definitely be cycling into my own seasonal decor.

I feel like there’s two types of people– those who swap out their art seasonally and those who just add a few art pieces here and there and not necessarily on the walls. I am the not the latter however if you are that type of decorator these options are modern and trendy while still nodding to Halloween!

Best of Target Home

If I could furnish my entire home from Target – I would. However there’s two major problems with that 1) I’m Canadian and our stint with Target was short lived and 2) Shipping is a nightmare & cost an arm an a leg. Style Your Shelves with These Decor Elements!

Open shelving is a trend that I don’t anticipate is going anywhere any time soon. I have loved incorporating this design element into our cosy home but I know the thought of styling your shelves can be intimidating. What do I put on the shelves? How many pieces do I put on each shelf? Where do I source all these gorgeous decor items?

Don’t fret! I’ve curated a collection of decor items that make styling your shelves fool-proof! Any of these items paired together would look amazing whether you pick just two or all five of these different style elements to incorporate!

1 | Vases

This modern Celia White Vase has the coolest 3D features that add a ton of texture to a space with just one piece.

The Adra Vase has a beautiful herringbone pattern that’s contrasted with the dark, warm tones at the top and bottom!

You can’t go wrong with this Teak Wood Vase, a classic piece.

This honeycomb vase is everything. I’m an avid fan of bee’s and the hexagonal honeycomb pattern that they magically create.

This recycled glass vase by Joanna Gains is obviously inspired strongly by her love of farmhouse decor and I can’t get enough of its unique shape.

This vase also has a really unique shape and is engraved with a abstract design!

2 | Candles

The candle that is on every influencers Instagram feed!

If you’re the type of gal who likes to decorate with candles while also catering to your type-A personality then these ones are the ones for you.

I love the vintage vibe that this crackle candle gives off and the colour is a beautiful warm green.

This small form candle screams bohemian and comes in multiple different colours!

This glass cloche candle is super unique and something that I’ve never come across before. It brings a classic element while also being modern at the same time.

3 | Bookends

These ones are probably my favourite, the white marble looks sharp against the small gold detailing.

This question and exclamation mark set seems pretty basic to me to be honest and yet somehow they’re so neutral and fit the theme of an avid book reader!

These ones serve the soul of someone who is all about their farmhouse home.

This set reminds me of a staircase haha, nonetheless I think the stark black would definitely pop amongst the books it’s propping up!

I love pulling in different natural elements to make our home feel cosy and connected, these fit in perfectly and definitely draw your eye.

These vintage gold brass ends remind me of my great-grandmother! So cute.

4 | Baskets

This one is a bit pricey but you can’t go wrong with the scandi vibe that this seagrass rectangular basket emanates!

Faux wicker is definitely a tried and true. I use them all over my home for storage as well as decor.

This Woodard & Charles basket boasts dark rich leather handles. My favourite feature for sure!

This wire shelf basket is another farmhouse decor find and looks great in the kitchen.

Loooove these storage hearth & hand baskets that incorporate a gorgeous deep blue throughout the weave.

5 | Table Books

A classic! This LV & Marc Jacobs is high end therefore a tad-bit pricey but the quality doesn’t fall short of its price tag.

Following the scandi/boho vibes of my own home, this copy of down to earth features hygge elements all throughout.

Cozy white cottage, need I say more?

One of the biggest themes you can find throughout my content is my love of being cosy yet still lookin’ cute! In comfort and style definitely falls in that category.

Chanel– another high end classic must-have see all over IG.

The Tom Ford book! Given that it’s cover wrap is black and white, this high end classic fits in with most decor.

The finer things is a look-back over the years of interior design and of the many different components that have ultimately led to where we are today.

Okay, did Joanna Gains write this book specifically for me though? Homebody is a manifestation of everything I am as a person. And the book is super cute on your shelf, too.

The general sense that I’m gathering this year is that most people are glad that the holidays are over and are ready to move on.

I’ve seen many posts across social media where people who otherwise would have kept their decor up for a few more days/weeks are completely over it. Myself included.

Usually what it really means when we “pack away” our holiday decor is taking everything down and stuffing it all haphazardly in a big tote bin. Classic White Lanterns— a perfect decor piece this holiday season

Hey hey everyone! I hope you’re feeling holy jolly and embracing the holiday spirit! Shops everywhere has officially pulled out all the stops when it comes to their Christmas displays and if I couldn’t resist the lure of the home section before it’s game over now.

One item that I noticed is quite popular this year are gorgeous white lanterns that come in a variety of sizes and designs. I love lanterns because they can be switched up seasonally and you can add different types of accent pieces inside. Though I love lanterns all year round there’s something about white lanterns that emanates a Christmas feel. Here’s some of my favourite finds to get you the look we were going for this year! If you’re feeling adventurous you could also totally DIY you’re own white wooden farmhouse lantern and save a few bucks that way and it’s a small enough project you could easily complete it within an afternoon.

Since moving into a new house this past February, all I’ve been thinking about is home decor. I have been obsessed with finding the trendiest items that I can utilize while currently living here but also take with me when my girlfriend and I get our own place.

My room is really coming along, and I’m happy with how everything is looking- it just needs a few more finishing touches and when that gets done (eventually) I would love to do a room tour for you guys!

Blanket Ladder

Blanket ladders bring an element of comfort to your area, despite the fact that blankets make anything feel cozy, I never thought that they would also make a great home decor item until now.

I find that blanket ladders also bring a rustic feel to the space, they have a real country side vibe. It’s such a simple yet adorable accent that is also super functional! Storing your throws has never been more aesthetically pleasing.

Floating Shelves

Floating shelves are great because there is a ton of variety when it comes to what look you want to go for. Among the dozens of styles you can chose from some of my favourites are corner shelves, rustic wood shelves, and boho themed shelves that feature different shapes. Floating shelves are also a great space saver for those who don’t have room for a full sized shelving unit.

Shelves are one of those decor pieces that will always be really easy to style. On my shelves I always have picture frames, plants, and little knickknacks- I also have a cute little light that I scored from the dollar store! Style it to your preference, or even use it to simply store your books!

Hanging Shelves

Much like floating shelves, hanging shelves also come in a variety of different styles and are great space savers! The only major difference is that these shelves don’t appear to be floating, you can physically see what hardware is used to install them to the wall.

I know what you’re thinking, why would I want to see the hardware when I can buy a floating shelf and hide it? Hanging shelves have such an aesthetically pleasing value when you chose the right one- they are more commonly being made with hardware that is easy on the eyes such as leather (for all my animal lovers out there make sure it’s faux!), rope, or wire.

Belly Baskets

You’ve probably seen this specific type of woven baskets before (especially with its growing popularity) but are you surprised at the cute name? Belly baskets have a unique shape that some people say resembles a full tummy- thus giving it the name.

I love versatile products that I can find many uses for and these baskets can handle many jobs! I’ve seen them as plant holders, laundry baskets, nursery room organizers, blanket storage, you name it! On top of that they are so adorable, and if you’re someone who likes to DIY it’s a perfect project to paint or spruce up to add a personal touch.

Macrame, or wall hangings, have become increasingly popular over the last few years- partly because they are freakin’ adorable, and partly because the small business world is booming! Supporting local and small business owners has never been more of a thing these days, and a lot of the beautiful macrame you see circulating is handmade!

I find that it adds just the right amount of boho to any area in your home, and it also looks good in any area of your home!

Who knew that trays could be so trendy? I often see them being used for storage, mixed in which a couple of knickknacks and honestly there is just something so aesthetically pleasing about that. They are also commonly used specifically for several decor pieces to create a focal point in the room. Either way it’s used, I’m here for it and loving it.
